Paul Beardsley
Teacher and ITI come from Derby, but I have lived in Portsmouth for most of my life. In 1986 I graduated with a B.A. (Honours) Degree in Related Arts, majoring in Literature. I also have a Diploma in Engineering, and I worked as a software engineer before I became a teacher.
I started teaching in 2005, and I have taught Mathematics, English, Physics and IT. I achieved a PGCE in teaching adults in 2008, and immediately went on to get my Trinity Cert TESOL qualification so that I could teach English as a Foreign Language. I worked at LSI for several months before finally settling at Portsmouth English Language School.
I have several outside interests, including astronomy and theatre, but my main interest is writing. My first short story was published in 1990; my first novel was published by BBC Worldwide in 2002. The novel is a science fiction adventure featuring the TV hero Doctor Who. I am writing a second novel in my spare time.
After I completed my Trinity I started doing a second degree, this time in Mathematics and IT with the Open University.
