Sandrine Choi

Accommodation Officer

My name is Sandrine and I come from Corsica. Corsica is a beautiful French island situated in the Mediteranean sea. For most of you, Corsica is well known as Napoleon Bonaparte's birthplace but Corsica is also world famous for its sandy beaches, chalk cliffs, olive oil, wine, delicatessens and clementines.

I grew up and studied in Corsica. I passed my master degree in applied languages there. I then decided to go to England to learn about the English way of life and to improve my speaking skills. My plan was to stay in Portsmouth for only 3 to 6 months but I enjoyed the freedom and the mix of the cultures so much that 17 years later, I am still here.

Since I have been in Portsmouth, I have been married, had two lovely children and worked for many years as a restaurant manager.

Two years ago, I was privileged to join PELS as an accommodation officer. I am really enjoying working at PELS and I am now being given more responsibilities. Now, I also organise the students' activities and sometimes help at the reception. Working at PELS is a great opportunity to meet people from all other the world and learn about their cultures. Also, at PELS I work with a very friendly team who care about the students.

During my spare time I like to go to the gym, cinema and socialise. My favourite holiday is skiing but I love travelling and I have visited may countries over the years such as Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Canada, America, Hong Kong and Macau.
